From Thailand to California

Supannee grew up in Thailand but moved to the United States as a young college graduate. Having missed the lush and abundant gardens from her home in Thailand, Supannee started to grow many of her own vegetables, herbs, and specialty Thai items for her own cooking efforts at home.

Soon Supannee’s friends were asking if they could pay her to make some fresh Thai food as it was unlike anything that was available in San Diego at the time. Her popularity soared, and soon Supannee House of Thai opened and warmly welcomed into the Point Loma community.

Supannee House of Thai was voted the number one Thai restaurant in San Diego for many years, and many people flew in from around the country to make a stop at her restaurant. Wanting to focus her love for private catering and chef services, Supannee sold her restaurant in 2022 to another respected San Diego Thai chef, Suree.

Supannee now enjoys creating beautiful food for private events – from corporate gatherings to large weddings. She offers full-service staffed catering or can drop off gorgeous party platters. She is also available as a private chef in the San Diego area or is open to travel. She recently visited Hawaii and enjoyed using local ingredients to craft her flavorful food for some booked private events.

Our Cuisine

Although Supannee specializes in Thai Cuisine, she has masterfully combined California fusion concepts into fresh and delicious appetizers and entrees. From fresh Summer Rolls with edible flowers from Supannee’s garden to locally sourced seafood entrees, let Supannee create a menu that will exceed your event expectations.
